Bio: While at Purdue, I met Paul. We moved to Chicago and lived near Wrigley Field for 25 years. It was an interesting time of transition in the area. We worked on community projects and on remodeling our 100 year old home.
A highlight of our life has been hosting children from other countries including India, Romania, and Northern Ireland.
I began my career in Social Work, mostly working with homeless families. In the 1980's, I helped to develop one of the first after school programs in Chicago. The final 29 years of my career were spent teaching kindergarten at an independent school. I miss those children and families.
I am proud to say that both of our children are in education and we take pride in the programs they develop.
In 2000, we moved to a Chicago bungalow closer to the edge of the city. We like being closer to Forest Preserves and bike paths, although we miss the wide variety of near-by restaurants.
Paul and I escape to our cottage in Wisconsin whenever possible. We are figuring out retirement and enjoying more freedom of schedule.
