Bio:
Life has been very good for me. Since high school, I achieved my BA from Western and my masters and PHD from UM. I pretty much stayed in Kalamazoo since high school other than a short time when I lived in Brighton while getting my MPH. For my professional life, I was a biostatistician developing drugs for Upjohn and Pharmacia. When Pfizer took over Pharmacia, I bailed and started my own drug & device development company in Kalamazoo. It was and still continues to be very successful; I retired from it in 2018. I am married to a wonderful man, Chris. He has always challenged me to be the best that I can be and has always supported me 100% on which ever path I wanted to pursue. We have two great kids. Katie is a professional equestrian in Ocala FL competing as a 3-day eventer as well as developing a breeding/foaling operation. She has given us many fun venues to watch her ride in the US, Canada and EU. Jeremy is our techy son and lives outside San Francisco. He works for Flickr and continues to dabble in music writing and playing on the side. He and his wife are moving back to Kalamazoo this August – I can’t wait! I have had many dogs over the years and currently have Shelby, a very sassy corgi, and Bees, a very smart and sweet aussie. Since I retired from my development company in 2018, I spend my time with a 24-acre private dog park that I opened in 2010. It is so much fun. The dogs and owners are wonderful – certainly better to work with than the FDA! We have almost 700 dogs that are members of the park. I also opened a dog friendly tavern at one corner of the park in 2018. Covid was a tough time for the tavern but now it is doing fine. If you have a dog and find yourself in the Kalamazoo area, stop by. You all will have a good time. I am truly sorry that I cannot join in the reunion as I have family business to attend to. It has been fun to reconnect on FB through the reunion site. Have a great night and enjoy life!
