Hello and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
THE 2020 REUNION is now 6 months away from today!
I hope all of you enjoyed your holidays. I did in spite of the cold I developed in December. I’m now on anti-biotics to get rid of it, while preparing for our annual Epiphany/White Elephant Party on Saturday night. It’s a great way to ring out the holidays with friends, and helps me avoid the sadness of taking down my Christmas tree, experience having taught me that there is no sadness taking down the tree if you leave it until becomes an embarrassment.
Speaking of Sadness
I’m sad to share that our classmate, Pat Nichols, passed away in December of an apparent heart attack. Pat made a career in sport fishing in Vernal, Utah. He had contacted the reunion both on facebook and by email and was happily looking forward to being with us in July. I’m sure he will be with us in spirit.
It seems everyday I get signs that the time is now to take care of the important stuff; heal relationships, renew friendships and express appreciation and love.
Classmate Search
Karen Roth has joined the search endeavor with an idea to "cut up the pie", encouraging individual volunteers to search for a group dear to them, for example, Ed Connolly has volunteered to search for classmates involved in band and orchestra. We could use more volunteers to search for debate, choir, athletic teams, cheerleaders, etc. The list of groups I have is the Senior Index found on Page 204 of The 1970 Piper. If you would like to enlist to search for a group, please contact me.
Attached is the revised Missing Information list so you can monitor our progress. Names found in November have been removed, names found in December are in blue. FB behind the name means they are members of the facebook group but not the email group. The names in black are the people we are still missing. Please help us find them. please refer to WHO’S MISSING page
Updates on Facebook
I have posted past monthly updates on our facebook page, Seaholm Class of 1970, so that if you have joined recently you can catch up with all our past communications.
Reunion Tickets
I’d like to give more time to finding classmates, then, in several months I will send out an RSVP request to get a headcount that I will need to develop a base reunion ticket price. Please wait to rsvp until I send out the rsvp request.
So you understand, my goal is to make this reunion accessible to as many as possible and that is why I try to set the ticket price as low as possible. I have chosen to do heavy hors d’oeuvres again, instead of a sit down dinner because the dinner was deemed to take up too much time that could be spent circulating and conversing, and is more costly.
I will be offering tickets in three levels; Reunion, Reunion Patron, and Reunion Donor. The extra proceeds from the Patron and Donor contributions will allow me to provide flowers, A/V fees, memorial service expenses, and additional food.
